The rest of September.

Hello little blog world of mine.

I have not abandoned you, although I've thought about it.
I'm not really sure why I've been dragging my feet on coming back here.
But aha! I am here. Blogs apparently don't write themselves.

Life lately according to my phone looks like this:
Lots & lots of dogs.

I just can't get enough of these boys.
Comet even let King kiss his entire head last night. Baby steps.

1., 2. & 3. We also had one of my favorite weekends we've had in a very long time.
It was easy & relaxing & we spent an entire day just hanging out in our city with Hank.
He is such a little social butterfly & was making friends with every dog at the dog park. 
4. Post-dog park exhaustion that lasted through the next day too.
5. We had a gathering for Ryan's birthday with most of our favorite people.
(You were so dearly missed Marshell's!)
6. We babysat Max for a couple of hours which meant lots of giggling 
& saying "What the heck are you saying Max?". Children at that age are quality entertainment.
We also had a really nice late-night dinner + movie afterwards that was perfect.


So... there. That pretty much sums up our month.
How is it October already?
Vacation is so close.

Weekly Round-Up: Sep 2-8

1. It's official. I'm stuck with these glasses from BonLook that I'm really not fond of.

My request for exchanging them wasn't approved which is..whatever.

I let it go but not before telling them exactly how I felt about the quality.

We have bought 9 pairs of BonLook glasses & I don't regret a single one, except these.

2. & 3. Thai dates with the Marshell family might be my new favorite thing.

Max surprises me every week by how fast he's growing up.

I can't wait to hear him say "Aunt Jana".. or at least his version of it.

I feel so blessed to be apart of that kids life.

4. Ryan & his step-mom share the same birthday

& we've always gone to dinner with them every year to celebrate.

This year we went to Musashi's & it was really pretty good!

(I am so grateful that it wasn't Greek House... again. I really hate gyros. Haha.)
More importantly, Kim has been doing MUCH better for those that have been asking.
She's still not 100% & I really hope that changes soon.
They (meaning the doctors) don't really know what happened or what's going on
& I really hope they find some answers soon.
5. Ryan & I went on his birthday date Saturday
& experienced the luxury of reclining seats @ AMC Penn Square.
I was really blown away by the remodel of that theater.
We'd only been once before about 7 years ago & they were pretty crappy.
Considering you have to pay $22 for a reclining seat at our usual go-to theater,
I think we'll be returning to Penn more often than not for our movie theater dates.
6. Comet has a thing for over-sized dog beds.
Any chance he gets, he curls up on Hank's comfy bed & it always cracks me up.

7., 8. & 9. These are my boys & they are the best.
There are days when I just want to snuggle Ollie
& then I get home & see these 3 overly happy faces.


We also celebrated Ryan's birthday with my family @ Del Rancho
which was Ryan's pick since I also hate Del Ranch.
I know, I know. That's like a sin or something.
& we got some good friend time with The Apple's so Rachel could teach me how to play Magic.
I did enjoy it, although I don't know if I'll ever be into playing in large groups.
I could definitely get into some 'in-the-right-close-setting' Magic though.

Weekly Round-Up: June 24-30

Last week revolved around our dogs as you can see.

Sorry, not sorry.

1 & 2. Ollie sick at the vet & progressively worse in just a couple of hours.

3. Hank's face when we got home without Ollie. He looked so scared.

4. Our little keepsake of Ollie that they did for us after she passed.

5. Hank decided he was going to shake non-stop this week.

6. Training wears him out so good. Why does every pit bull seem to sleep like this?

7. Hank & Comet being best friends. They've gotten so close lately.

8. Hank comforting us after a long day & missing Ollie.

9. A much needed date night to dinner & the movie to see "World War Z".
Although I did enjoy the movie, it really is a shame that they associated this with Max Brooks' novel. I haven't even finished the book & I can tell you how not like the book this movie is in pretty much most ways. The movie did have me thoroughly entertained & on the edge of my seat though.
If you're a zombie fan, go watch it. Just don't expect the zombies to be slow...

The Bird.

I've been staring at this bridge for a year now.

I'm sure this thing will make much more sense when the Maps 3 park is done.

Right now it's just a cool modern bridge, in the middle of the ghetto

& that makes it weird.

One year to another.

I have the hardest time remembering how old I am.

I am constantly asking Ryan because he knows better than I do.

Yes, I could do the math in my head but I hate math.

I constantly have a dumbfounded look when I'm asked my age at a bar.

Let me tell you just how suspicious that makes you look.

I'm surprised that anyone in the state of Oklahoma even serves me alcohol

between my answer of "Uhhhh...." on top of the fact that I usually look about 16-19.

Well, I turned a day older yesterday which means it'll take me another year to remember.

Ryan took me on the most simple & sweet date yesterday which included our favorite things:

Food, dessert, drive time, mid-century homes & deer.

We had delicious bad-for-you food at Gabriella's,

which I highly recommend to anyone that loves real Italian food.

Or really just anyone that loves pizza because OHMYGOSH, their pizza.

I could eat the dough alone for all my meals for an entire week.

Also, hello dessert:

That my friends, was quite literally a little piece of heaven called Zeppole

& they make it out of that amazing pizza dough.

Our date ended by finding my dream neighborhood 

in a location we would have never even thought of on the east side of Lincoln

filled with one beautiful mid-century home after another

in what felt like a middle of a forest, complete with deer.

We were in love.

*I must also note that Ryan made me wear a blindfold to surprise me because he's just that cute.

& we spent all day Sunday celebrating my birth the best way: with family.

 My mother is the greatest.

Thank you to everyone for all of the birthday wishes,

it really was grand.

Barren Barons

We love watching the OKC Barons

We are blessed to get free tickets to events from Ryan's work fairly often.

We took our good friends Jeremy & Natalie with us last night.

I love random weeknight double dates.

YOU GUUUUYS, do you see how empty the stadium is?

It's so sad! The Barons need some more love from it's city!

1. I still think hockey is the hardest sport of all time.

2. Hockey is the only sport I want to go into overtime.

I like watching shootouts.
3. Kids 8 & under playing hockey is the cutest thing I've ever seen.
They had a kids team come out & play in between one of the periods
& I thought my heart would burst.
I wanted to steal those children.
My phone died so I had to use Ryan's & he has the crappiest camera.
There was one 6 year old kid that was the smallest of both teams
& he made the only two shots made within a few minutes.
He was obviously born a champion.

I realize I'm almost a month late on this. I was tempted to just skip this and move on to more current events but it's just too good to skip. After all, who doesn't love FOOD? Ryan and I celebrated Valentine's Day for the first time since we were dating. It was more so just an excuse to eat at Red Prime Steakhouse and it did not disappoint. In fact, I could consider it the most delightful thing to ever touch my lips. You pay a pretty penny to eat here but it is worth every cent. I can't even begin to tell you how amazing this food was.

We did this the day before V-Day and then went to the Thunder Game with our good friend Darren Ash on the 14th. It seems silly to some but I wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else. One of the perks of Ryan's job is that we win a lot of tickets to events. It's perfect because his work is pretty much paying for all of our dates lately!

I love my city and I love our team.

We went to a Ron Paul Rally. It was a day I will remember for the rest of my life. I cried I was so happy and so proud in that moment. I wish I could keep that feeling with me always. It's such a rare thing to experience in life. Not to mention, he is still the cutest old man I've ever seen and I want him to be my grandpa.
