Describe your relationship with your parents.
---------------------------------------------------------
- Mom - My mom is my rock. That's really all there is to it. She is why I am who I am. We don't talk on the phone everyday and know every single thing we do but we know the big stuff. I can still go to my mom and cry in her lap. I know that her advice is sound and her intentions are always true. I will always consider her a friend and mother. The thought of her not being there gives me anxiety. She married an awesome man not quite a year ago and I couldn't be more thankful for him either. He has a heart of gold and as deep as the ocean.
- Dad - Well, that's a different story. I try my best to be civil to him. He is my dad and I do love him and appreciate the good the memories I have of him when I was a kid. Our relationship is almost nonexistent for reasons that the world doesn't need to know. All I know is that I can't trust him so it's hard to have a real relationship. I haven't spoken to him on the phone since October of 2010. I've seen him once since then at my sister's wedding. Other than that we've exchanged a few texts about where we live and where we work now but that's really as far as that goes. Some days I want more than that and some days I don't. I don't know what our relationship will look like when Ryan & I have kids but honestly the thought of having to figure that out scares me.
So I guess you can say my relationships with my parents are drastically different.
